Mindframe for Alcohol and Other Drugs.

Since 2002, Mindframe has provided comprehensive national guidance and training and education on the responsible, accurate and sensitive portrayals of mental illness and suicide through mass communications (news, online and entertainment media).

The Mindframe project team is set to apply the same evidence-based principles and methodologies to a new project - Mindframe for Alcohol and Other Drugs, funded by the Australian Governments’ Department of Health, managed by Everymind.

Mindframe’s evidence based guidelines will aim to positively influence the quality of reporting on AOD related issues in the media in an effort to improve community attitudes towards people living with drug and alcohol issues; and increase help-seeking behaviour by people experiencing such problems.

The project is currently in development stages and resources for the responsible reporting and portrayal of alcohol and other drugs will be available here shortly.
